1. Clinical Workshop: “Developmental Supportive Care for High-Risk Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs)
The Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a clinical executive workshop titled “Developmental Supportive Care for High-Risk Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs)”, targeting clinical supervisors and nursing professionals. Delivered by Certified International Trainer Efat Al-Ma’ayta, the program was accredited by the Jordan Nursing Council for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Aligned with ACEN accreditation standards, the workshop introduced participants to the principles and applications of developmental supportive care, emphasizing individualized treatment, family involvement, and environmental optimization in neonatal intensive care units. Participants engaged in simulation-based exercises, practicing real-life nursing scenarios and developing action plans for improving neonatal care outcomes.
By providing this certified and interactive program to healthcare professionals beyond enrolled students, AAU reinforced its commitment to lifelong learning, professional skill enhancement, and community-based education, contributing directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education)—especially Target 4.3, which promotes equal access to quality vocational training—and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) through advancing neonatal healthcare practices.
