Introduction: 

 

Al-Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) demonstrates a strong commitment to lifelong learning and professional capacity-building through its executive and vocational education programs. These initiatives are designed to equip professionals, graduates, and community members with practical skills that enhance employability, leadership, and innovation. 

Through various units—including the Business Incubator, Hourani e-Learning Center (HEC), Teaching and Learning Center (TLC), Health Training Center, and the Faculty of Nursing AAU delivers a wide range of short executive courses, workshops, and certified training programs accredited by national and international bodies. 

These programs cover diverse fields such as healthcare, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, sustainable development, education, and management, and are open to participants beyond enrolled students. 

By providing accessible, skill-based learning opportunities for the public, AAU reinforces its role as a regional hub for lifelong education, directly contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) specifically Target 4.3, which calls for “equal access for all to affordable and quality technical, vocational, and tertiary education.”

1. Al-Ahliyya Amman University Health Training Center 

The Health Training Center (HTC) at Al-Ahliyya Amman University plays a pivotal role in advancing professional education and lifelong learning within the healthcare sector. As part of the Faculty of Nursing, the center offers a series of short-term executive and vocational training programs designed for healthcare professionals, clinical supervisors, and practitioners from outside the university. 

All HTC programs are accredited by the Jordanian Nursing Council for Continuing Professional Development (CPD), ensuring that participants receive high-quality, practice-oriented training recognized at the national level. These programs cover a wide range of specialized topics such as neonatal care, emergency and critical care, growth supportive care for at-risk newborns, and Alzheimer’s patient management. 

Through interactive workshops, simulation-based sessions, and certified professional development modules, the HTC empowers participants to enhance their clinical, managerial, and leadership competencies. 2. Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship  

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Al-Ahliyya Amman University serves as a leading platform for executive and vocational training focused on innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable business development. The center provides short-term educational programs and specialized workshops designed for entrepreneurs, graduates, and professionals from outside the university, equipping them with the essential skills to create, manage, and scale innovative ventures. 

Through its open-access training initiatives, the CIE offers hands-on programs on business modeling, startup development, digital transformation, leadership, and innovation management, often conducted in collaboration with national and international organizations. Participants engage in practical sessions led by experts, gaining real-world experience that supports employability and entrepreneurial growth. 

The center’s educational activities reflect AAU’s strategic commitment to promoting lifelong learning and community empowerment, helping participants transform innovative ideas into sustainable business solutions. 3. Business Incubator 

The Business Incubator at Al-Ahliyya Amman University is a key driver of executive education and vocational capacity-building aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals beyond the university community. The incubator provides a series of short-term executive workshops and specialized training programs designed to enhance participants’ understanding of innovation management, intellectual property protection, and the use of artificial intelligence tools in modern business environments. 

 

Among its flagship initiatives are the workshops “Your Comprehensive Guide to Patents and Intellectual Property Protection” and “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools to Enter the Job Market.” These programs are delivered in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation, the Technology and Innovation Support Centers Unit (TISC), and national industry experts, ensuring that participants gain practical skills directly applicable to their professional fields. 

 

Through these initiatives, the Business Incubator promotes lifelong learning, entrepreneurial education, and digital readiness, providing opportunities for external participants—including graduates and community members—to access high-quality professional training.

4. Hourani e-Learning Center 

Hourani e-Learning Center(HEC) at Al-Ahliyya Amman University is dedicated to providing executive and vocational education programs that enhance the professional and academic competencies of educators, researchers, and administrators within and beyond the university. The center’s mission focuses on developing innovative teaching methods, digital learning strategies, and educational leadership skills aligned with modern higher education standards. 

 

Through a variety of short-term training courses, executive workshops, and professional development seminars, the HEC offers open-access programs on e-learning systems, instructional design, quality assurance, and academic innovation. These initiatives are designed not only for AAU faculty members but also for participants from other universities, educational institutions, and community organizations, reinforcing the university’s outreach in higher education excellence. 

 

The HEC’s programs promote lifelong learning and continuous professional development, enabling participants to adopt cutting-edge practices in digital education and academic management. The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) at Al-Ahliyya Amman University is a leading hub for executive and vocational education in the field of academic development and modern pedagogy. The center delivers a wide range of short-term professional training courses and workshops aimed at enhancing the teaching competencies of educators, faculty members, and academic leaders from both within and outside the university.

6. Women’s Health Center 

The Women’s Health Center, operating under the Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, is a pioneering platform for executive and vocational education in the field of women’s and community health. The center provides short-term professional and training programs aimed at developing the competencies of healthcare professionals, nurses, midwives, and practitioners from outside the university, in alignment with national and international health standards. 

 

Through its specialized and certified workshops—such as the “Pioneers in the Care of Patients with Memory Disorders” program and “Change Day” community initiatives—the center promotes lifelong learning and continuous professional development for participants working in healthcare and social sectors. The programs integrate scientific evidence, hands-on training, and practical skill development to enhance participants’ capacity in preventive care, maternal and child health, and patient-centered nursing practices. 

 

The Women’s Health Center collaborates with leading national institutions such as the Health Care Accreditation Council (HCAC) and the Jordanian Nursing Council, ensuring that all programs are accredited and professionally recognized. By extending these educational opportunities to external participants, the center reinforces AAU’s mission to bridge academia and community service through open-access health education and professional training.

7. Sustainability and International Ranking Center  

The 1. Sustainability and International Ranking Center at Al-Ahliyya Amman University plays a central role in promoting executive and vocational education focused on sustainability, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and institutional excellence. The center provides short-term professional programs, specialized workshops, and certified training sessions for faculty members, administrative staff, students, and external participants from public and private institutions. 

 

Through these educational initiatives, the center equips participants with the skills to implement sustainability strategies, measure environmental performance, prepare sustainability reports, and align institutional practices with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Programs such as “Sustainability and SDG Awareness Sessions”, “Environmental Impact Measurement Workshops”, and “ESG and Reporting Training” are offered throughout the academic year to strengthen the culture of sustainability in education and administration. 

 

The center also provides training and consultation sessions on international ranking methodologies, data management, and sustainability reporting frameworks (including GRI Standards), thereby supporting universities, schools, and organizations seeking to integrate sustainability into their operations.

1. Clinical Workshop: “Developmental Supportive Care for High-Risk Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs)   

The Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a clinical executive workshop titled “Developmental Supportive Care for High-Risk Newborns in Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs)”, targeting clinical supervisors and nursing professionals. Delivered by Certified International Trainer Efat Al-Ma’ayta, the program was accredited by the Jordan Nursing Council for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 

 

Aligned with ACEN accreditation standards, the workshop introduced participants to the principles and applications of developmental supportive care, emphasizing individualized treatment, family involvement, and environmental optimization in neonatal intensive care units. Participants engaged in simulation-based exercises, practicing real-life nursing scenarios and developing action plans for improving neonatal care outcomes.

4. Workshop: “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools to Enter the Job Market 

The Business Incubator at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation  Al-Balqa Office, organized a specialized executive training workshop titled “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools to Enter the Job Market.” 

 

The workshop aimed to equip graduates and final-year students with the essential skills to navigate the modern job market by leveraging AI-based tools, large language models, and prompt engineering techniques. Delivered by employability expert Mohammad Al-Hayasat, the session introduced participants to practical applications of AI in career development, CV building, and workplace efficiency. 

 

More than 60 participants from various faculties including Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology, Business, and Architectural Design took part in the training. The program enhanced participants’ readiness for digital transformation in employment, empowering them to integrate AI technologies into professional environments. 

 

By offering this free, skills-based vocational workshop to participants beyond enrolled students, AAU reinforced its role in lifelong learning, career development, and digital capacity building, directly contributing to SDG 4 (Quality Education) particularly Target 4.3 on inclusive access to vocational and technical training and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) through youth empowerment and employability enhancement.

5. Training Course: “First Aid for Elderly Care Home Staff – Dar Juwaida Elderly Home 

The Women’s Health Center at Al Ahliyya Amman University, in cooperation with the Dar Juwaida Elderly Care Home, organized a specialized vocational training course titled “First Aid for Elderly Care Home Staff.” The course was supervised by Dr. Manal Al-Satari, Head of the Acute and Chronic Care Department, and targeted care home staff to develop their practical competencies in first aid and emergency management for the elderly. 

The program included hands-on training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), managing fall-related injuries, and addressing common geriatric health complications. The course also emphasized the importance of preventive care and health awareness among caregivers. 

The event featured participation from faculty members, students, and volunteers from the Nabdh Club, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. This initiative aligns with Al Ahliyya Amman University’s vision to promote professional education and health awareness across all sectors of society.

6. Training Course: “First Aid for Al-Jami’a Schools’ Staff 

The Health Training Center, affiliated with the Faculty of Nursing at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, organized a free short-term executive training course titled “First Aid” for the staff of the First, Second, and Third Al-Jami’a Schools, with the participation of 300 attendees. 

Supervised by Prof. Dr. Khaldoun Hamdan, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing and Director of the Center, and delivered by Dr. Manal Al-Sutri, the course aimed to enhance health awareness and practical first-aid skills among educators. The one-day program combined theoretical and practical components covering CPR techniques, fracture and wound management, choking and poisoning, and emergency response for adults and children. 

Participants received hands-on training using mannequins and simulation tools, reinforcing real-world skills in emergency health care. The course was part of the university’s broader community outreach initiatives and its commitment to social responsibility, offering free education and capacity-building opportunities to the wider community. 

By providing this open-access, certified professional training to external participants, AAU contributed directly to SDG 4 (Quality Education) particularly Target 4.3 on access to vocational and technical education and supported SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through collaboration with educational institutions and health experts.
