Welcoming Meeting for New Nursing Students at Al-Ahliyya Amman University for the Summer Semester of the Academic Year 2024–2025

A welcoming meeting for new students enrolled in the summer semester of the 2024–2025 academic year was held at Al-Hourani Auditorium, with the attendance of the Dean, heads of departments, faculty members, and a large number of new students. The meeting aimed to facilitate the integration of new students into the university environment and to strengthen their communication with the college staff, thereby contributing to a successful start to their academic journey. The Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Professor Khaldoun Hamdan, delivered a welcoming speech in which he greeted the new students, wishing them a fruitful academic experience filled with progress and success. He also highlighted the college’s achievements at both the local and international levels. In addition, the university’s and the college’s vision, mission, and core values were presented. Students were introduced to the university’s regulations regarding their rights and responsibilities, with an emphasis on adhering to the university’s policies and instructions. Department heads, Dr. Manal Al-Sutri and Dr. Muhannad Al-Duqas, presented the programs offered by the college, the study plans and guidelines, as well as the intended learning outcomes. They stressed the role of students in achieving these outcomes, the importance of academic advising, maintaining continuous communication with advisors, attending lectures regularly, and adhering to exam schedules. The Assistant Dean for Practical Training explained the guidelines related to clinical training at training sites, along with other academic and practical issues of relevance to students. Professor Khaldoun Hamdan, Director of the Al-Ahliyya Amman Health Training Center, also gave a presentation about the center and its workshops, urging students to take part in them. He emphasized the importance of informing the college of any training workshops or courses they need, and highlighted the English language and medical terminology courses offered by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, encouraging students to enroll. The college also hosted Ms. Zeina Abu Al-Samen, Director of the Guidance and Alumni Office, who presented the services of the Guidance Center, with a focus on community service activities, motivating students to participate in such activities at both the college and university levels. At the end of the event, Saudi student Ali Al-Mustanir delivered a speech on behalf of his fellow students, sharing their experience at the university. The floor was then opened for questions, with active engagement from the attendees.
