University of Bath Delegation Visits Al-Ahliyya Amman University
Within the efforts of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and its administration to achieve its vision to become a leading university not only in Jordan, but also in the region, and based on its objectives concerning the development of learning methods in order to raise the efficiency of students, Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, received a delegation from the British University of Bath. During the meeting, several matters of mutual interest were discussed. Dr. Maher Saleem presented an overview of the University, its environment and constituent elements. Dr. Saleem outlined that the University employs modern technologies in an integrated learning environment that focuses on students at the very centre of the teaching and learning process. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Gary Hawley, and Director of International Cooperation at the University of Bath, Mr. Andrew Howman, toured the University facilities during which they were briefed on the modern technologies and developed and high quality infrastructure provided by the University. The delegation was impressed by the modern techniques and developed teaching aid offered by the University for students. The delegation met with faculty members in the Faculty of Engineering and a number of the Faculty students, and noted the academic programs at the undergraduate and graduate (MA) levels offered at the University of Bath. At the end of the meeting, the attendees raised questions about the educational programs and scholarships offered at the University of Bath. The delegation expressed its sincere thanks and gratitude to Al-Ahliyya Amman University, represented by its President, for the warm reception and generous hospitality during their stay in Jordan. At the end of the meeting, the two sides exchanged commemorative shields.
