Under the Auspices of H.E. the Secretary of Greater Amman Municipality, the AAU Hosts the First Graduates Meeting of Its 25th Classes In a Special Ceremony

Under the auspices of the Secretary of Greater Amman Municipality H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Shawarbeh, the AAU hosted on Saturday, 21 July 2018, the first graduates meeting of its 25th Classes, since the establishment of the University, in a special ?ceremony entitled Our University Brings Us Together. Indeed, the ceremony was greatly attended by approximately two thousand graduates along with some of their families. The ceremony began in the afternoon and lasted until 9 p.m., which included bazaars, competitions and games, apart from miscellaneous activities, such as sharing the unique experiences and singing talents of graduates with the audience. Most notably, several bands from the University actively participated in the ceremony, including the former and present bands. The event began with Surat Al Fatiha recitation by the President of the AAU Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan to honor the spirit of the University's Founder, the late Dr. Ahmed Al-Hourani. At the outset, Hamdan welcomed H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Shawarbeh and the distinguished audience for their remarkable presence, and stated that we are heartened at the AAU by this major event, which brings together the graduates of the University since its establishment until the graduation of its 25th class. ?The competency of the AAU's graduates is well-?recognized in the labor market at the local, Arab and regional levels?. Some of our graduates hold senior positions in the government institutions; a striking example, the Secretary of Greater Amman Municipality and the Sponsor of this event H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Shawarbeh, who was a special graduate of this giant University. Lastly, Dr. Sari Hamdan deeply thanked everyone who effectively contributed to the success of this ceremony; especially the Director of International and Public Relations Department, Mrs. Enas Al Hourani, who initiated the idea of bringing the AAU's graduates together. The Secretary of Greater Amman Municipality H.E. Dr. Yousef Al Shawarbeh delivered an opening speech, in which he warmly welcomed the audience, and said that My colleagues, I am proud to stand here before you at the AAU. Indeed, we are honored to be the first graduates' class of this prestigious institution. At that time, we were not fortunate to study at the regular universities, and the overseas study has been characterized by many challenges. On the bright side, we got a great opportunity to study at the AAU, first private University in Jordan, thanks to the Founder of this prestigious University the late Dr. Ahmed Al Hourani, May Allah Have Mercy on His Soul, who did his utmost to enrich the University with his knowledge, and the highly qualified faculty members. In this respect, Al Shawarbeh mentioned that I am very glad to share these memorable moments with our colleagues at this ceremony, which is very considerate of the AAU. It was even more of an honor to visit Palestine and meet other colleagues. He continued saying that I am deeply proud of myself and my colleagues as graduates from this prominent University, which is equipped with the best faculty members, as we harbor the hope that this forum will be annually held on a permanent basis. At the conclusion, the ceremony's sponsor honored the Dean of the Faculty of Law Dr. Yousef Al Abbadi, who was his fellow student. Following the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AAU Dr. Maher Al-Hourani addressed the distinguished audience, during which he welcomed the graduates and the audience, recalling the University's fruitful journey and continuing progress, in terms of the teaching and administrative staff, the solid performance, as well as the facilities and infrastructure. In this respect, Al-Hourani highlighted the milestone of the AAU, while stressing the University's capacity in ensuring its excellence in Jordan and the region. Moreover, numerous graduates addressed the audience, and shared with them their unforgettable experiences at the AAU, comprising the Assistant President for Management Mr. Iyad Abdullah Sha'aban, who commended the progress and excellence of the University, along with its elite graduates. Additionally, the Founder's daughter Ms. Abeer Ahmed Al-Hourani shared with the audience her working experience inside the University, based on her father's willingness to carry out challenging job involving in the maintenance of boilers and other services to become confident and self-reliant. In this sense, several graduates addressed the audience, including the Director of Physiognomy Center Mohammed Abu Laban, the CEO of Pioneers Academy News and Events Mohammed Al Afouri, the Manager of Cairo Amman Bank (University of Jordan branch) Feras Al Fares, and other outstanding graduates. Additionally, Mrs. Enas Al-Hourani honored dozens of graduates and participants with valuable gifts, as recognition of the graduates' success. The ceremony was attended by the Artists Najem Al Salman, Tawfiq Al Dalu, Hani Metwasi, and numerous bands, including Harget Kart Band, the University Band of Arabic singing 1990, the University Band of Western Singing 1990, and the University Band 2018, in the presence of the guests of honor Jessy Abu Faisal, Jacob Lambaz and DJ Diaz.
