The Scientific Research Committee at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences Organizes a Lecture Titled "Innovation Leadership: How Scientific Research Becomes an Effective Product"
On Thursday, December 26, 2024, the Scientific Research Committee at the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences organized a lecture titled "Innovation Leadership: How Scientific Research Becomes an Effective Product." The event featured Prof. Sabah Al-Jassem from the University of Windsor, who currently serves as the CEO of Applied Bio Research Inc. and the Director of Research and Development at CamOlium.
The lecture highlighted the importance of translating scientific research into patents and value-added products based on solid scientific and research foundations. Prof. Al-Jassem emphasized the role of universities as hubs and incubators for innovators and inventors, underlining the need to provide supportive environments to transform research ideas into practical solutions that address societal needs and drive economic development.
During the lecture, Prof. Al-Jassem shared his personal experience, showcasing several patents he holds that have been successfully commercialized. He presented practical examples of integrating scientific research with industrial applications, resulting in innovative solutions that meet market demands.
The lecture was attended by faculty and administrative members from the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, as well as representatives from the Faculties of Nursing and Biomedical Engineering. The two-hour session included in-depth discussions on enhancing the role of universities in fostering innovation ecosystems, implementing best practices to convert scientific research into economically valuable products at both local and global levels.
