The President of the AAU Meets A Number of the Local Community Representatives

Within the framework of interaction between the councils and committees of the AAU and the activities and representatives of the local community, the AAU President Prof. Sadeq Hamed met on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 with the representatives of Government, Service and Society Institutions. He explained the importance of holding such meetings and called for increasing these activities and making use of the available scientific competences to serve the local community especially in the social services such as free medical activities, distribution of the medical aids and holding special technical courses. On his part, Mr. Iyad Shaban, the Administrative Affairs Assistant to the President, emphasized the importance of these meetings which implement the AAU vision, and mission to be one of the top universities at the Jordan and the Arab levels. The Mayor of the Greater Al- Salt Municipality, Eng. Khalid Khashman who attended this meeting praised the University for providing the Municipality with direct and indirect services. He stressed the need to take advantage of the scientific expertise available in order to find solutions to the problems of roads and transport within the city and to provide specialized consultations regarding the development of tourism in the City of AL- Salt. On his part, lawyer Abboudi Al-Awayshe who is a member of the Council of Al-Balqa Governorate, also confirmed the social role of the AAU and explained some of the services which the University provided to the Balqa Governorate in particular and to the Kingdom in general. He also called for holding more meetings and establishing more cooperation with the various components of the local community.
