The Minister of Higher Education warns students of extremist ideas

On Saturday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Amin Mahmoud, addressed a message to university students inside and outside Jordan, urging them to beware of “Allowing the forces of extremism that claim to represent Islam” to influence their minds and academic duties. Mahmoud praised the solidarity of Jordanian people concerning the murder of the pilot Muath Kasasbeh. He pointed out that this unity in the face of the great tragedy “imparts to the world a message of unity, patience, sacrifice and courage to tell the truth and to confront evil”. The Minister of Higher Education said: “To our students in and abroad Jordan: We congratulate ourselves on the historical lesson provided by the Jordanians not for the nation only, but for all the peoples of the world. The Jordanian people have stood united behind the word of truth and tolerance of Islam in the face of difficulties and challenges”, he noted. “You are entitled to be proud of the martyr pilot Muath Kasasbeh, whose image is engraved in the hearts of all people in the five continents. The name of our nation and country is now associated with the highest levels of human civilization and experience of alive nations. The world is now busy with analyzing and interpreting this amazing Jordanian chemistry, which combines patience, challenge, glory, hard work, achievement, and disapproval of abnormal and extreme acts”, he added. “Our country sets an example in supporting the leadership and institutions. Jordanians have presented the best picture of unity, solidarity and interdependence. The blood of the martyr Kasasbeh has united us again. The opponents of life and humanity will face their miserable destiny after their attempts to create discord among Jordanians have proved to fail and turned against them. The Jordanian people has united before the world and disassociated themselves from the extremists. We have even declared a relentless war on theorists of darkness, murder and blood and the worshipers of fire, who planned carefully amid the complicity of several parties to tarnish the great image of Islam, our tolerant religion”, he said.
