The Mental Health Club at Al-Ahliyyah Amman University Holds a Workshop at Al-Hussein Cultural Center
The Mental Health Club at Al-Ahliyyah Amman University, with the participation of Dr. Fida Abu Al-Khair, the Head of the Department of Psychology and Special Education, at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyyah Amman University, held on Saturday 3/2/2018 a specialized training workshop entitled Social Anxiety and Stress Control. The workshop was carried out in cooperation with (Dopamine) Association for Mental Health Awareness and (Tarabat) Center from the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization. In this workshop, Dr. Fida discussed social anxiety disorder, its symptoms, causes and methods of treatment. Dr. Amina Al-Tamimi of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization and Dr. Malik Tarifi of the Dopamine Society also discussed ways of managing stress. The workshop included a presentation of group of pictures and publications presented by students of the Mental Health club at the university.The workshop was attended by a group of psychologists, students of psychology, a group of school students and their parents, and women from Tarabat Center. This workshop came to be as an extension of the participatory approach between Al-Ahliyyah Amman University, associations and working in the field of psychological health care, as well as civil society organizations, with the aim of spreading awareness in psychological health and training for students and practitioners in the field.
