The Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research receives in Baghdad the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the accompanying delegation

On the margins of Al-Ahliyya Amman University signing two cooperation agreements with the two universities of Babylon and the Al-Mustaqbal University College in Baghdad, On Wednesday 9-6-2021, the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Nabil Kazem Abdul-Sahib, received the President of the University, Prof. Sari Hamdan, and his assistant for international accreditation and classification, Dr. Anas Al-Saud, where the mechanisms of academic cooperation and agreement on the exchange of scholarships were discussed. His Excellency the Minister welcomed the visiting delegation, stressing the willingness of the Iraqi side to offer scholarships to the Jordanian side and to maintain professional cooperation between Iraqi universities and colleges and their Jordanian counterparts in the governmental and private fields at the level of specialized academic programs and the secondment of professors to serve the interests of both countries.During the meeting, which was attended by the Director of the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up, and the Director of the Private University Education Department, His Excellency the Minister explained that Iraqi public and private universities and colleges are subject to a procedural evaluation of the scientific and administrative level, pointing to the adoption of specific time limits to indicate performance, quality data and global publication.In turn, the President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University valued the cooperation and openness shown by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its institutions, describing Iraq as a reference in higher education for many Arab countries.The President offered five scholarships to Iraqi students in a number of scientific disciplines, especially Clinical Psychology and Nursing, noting that Al-Ahliyya Amman University is currently embracing an important group of Iraqi students who have demonstrated their merit in receiving knowledge and excellence.He added: Al-Ahliyya Amman University has concluded cooperation agreements with a number of its Iraqi counterparts to draw up coordination requirements in the field of scientific and cultural exchange and the development of the joint scientific research environment.In conclusion, the Iraqi Minister of Higher Education directed the formation of a joint team comprising representatives of the departments of studies, planning, private university education, missions and the Iraqi cultural attaché in Amman to chart practical paths and steps for bilateral cooperation.
