The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at AAU Shines at JOSPEX, Winning Three Medals
The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Al-Ahliyya Amman University participated in the JOSPEX Exhibition, the first specialized exhibition in Jordan dedicated to desserts, pastries, chocolate, and related tools and equipment. The event was held under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Hijazin, and supported by the Jordan Chefs Association.
The faculty’s participation stood out, reflecting the high level of academic and professional excellence of its students and staff. Chef Jehan Al-Sahawneh, Executive Director, served as a member of the judging panel for the professional competitions held alongside the exhibition.
Students from the faculty also achieved notable success by winning several medals across different categories. Student Sura Abdulsalam was awarded the gold medal in the Best Burger category, under the supervision and training of Chef Bilal Warda.
In the Mocktails category, student Rakan Al-Qudsi received the silver medal, while student Rabee Harb earned the bronze medal in the Barista category. Both students were supervised and trained by Mr. Maamoun Hamdeh, Head of the Food and Beverage Department and lecturer in Food and Beverage Service.
These achievements highlight the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management’s commitment at Al-Ahliyya Amman University to developing students’ skills and enhancing their practical expertise, strengthening their readiness to excel and compete in the hospitality and culinary arts sector both locally and internationally.
