The Faculty of Dentistry Organizes a Lecture for Local Women on Diabetes and Its Impact on General Health and Oral Health
On Monday, January 6, 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry welcomed local women for an awareness lecture on diabetes and its effects on general health and oral health, as part of the community service activities organized periodically by the faculty in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs. The lecture was presented by faculty members from the Faculty of Dentistry: Prof. Dr. Tamer Abu Amara, Dr. Lashin Saad, and Dr. Mohammad Al-Khouli. Faculty and administrative staff members, along with a group of students from the faculty, also participated in welcoming the women and organizing the event.
The lecture aimed to introduce diabetes, its types, and ways to prevent it, as well as raise awareness about its complications and the effects it has on both general health and oral health when not properly managed. The session was met with positive interaction and dialogue between the audience and the speakers about diabetes, preventive measures, and key health practices that must be followed to prevent the disease. The event also included blood sugar level measurements for the attending women.
