The Faculty of Business at Al-Ahliyya Amman University Discussing the Vision, Message, and Goals of the Faculty

The Dean of the Faculty of Business ,Dr. Abd AL Nasser Nour, met again with the members of the Faculty staff on 2:00 PM on Sunday 16/10/2016. He welcomed the members of the Faculty staff and thanked them for their commitment to remarkable attendance and lectures. The Dean of the Faculty explained that the main objective of the meeting is to discuss the vision, message, and goals of the Faculty with the Faculty members. He also reviewed the pillars of the educational process as related to the student, scientific research, and the local community. He referred to that changing the name of the Faculty from the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences to the Faculty of Business leads us to a review of the vision, message, and goals of the Faculty. He also reviewed what has been reported by its counterparts of some local and international universities including Jordan University ,Hashemite University, Middle East University, Edinburgh University ,and Heriot-Watt University. He referred to the vision, t message, goals, and core values of the Al-Ahliyya Amman University. He presented a prepared proposal for the Faculty about the vision and message to be discussed with the attendants .He focused in his proposal on the Faculty vision by strengthening a pioneer website for the Faculty of Business locally and regionally to become a distinctive learning center in business. He explained the message through preparing a qualified human cadre in order to cope with scientific developments with high efficiency to contribute in supplying the local and regional market with its needs in the field of business , including active contribution to community development locally and regionally through quality programs at the Faculty. He also emphasized that the vision is not within a specified period , referring to the importance of change for the better and the importance of activating the local Master program .They discussed all matters with the attendants and discussed many ideas in this field. Dr.Essam al-Dabbagh said that it must be a new message for the Faculty due to the change of its name to the Faculty of Business, and its vision should be consistent with the University vision. The Dean of the Faculty said that we can present a proposal to develop the University vision according to that. Instructor Mai Moussa said that the vision should be derived from the University vision, focusing on the message and goals of the Faculty. Dr.Anas Al Saud suggested to discuss the vision and message according to the proposal by the Dean of the Faculty and to amend it when necessary. Dr.Saeed Al Khatib added that we should prepare a strategic plan for ten years and more. The discussion have concluded with a formation of the Strategic Planning Committee chaired by the Dean of the Faculty and the membership of the following: Dr.Essam al-Dabbagh ,Dr.Alaa Al Hourani,Dr. Ahmed Erekat,Dr.Anas Al saud, and Dr.Suha Abd Al Aal. On the other hand,the attendants discussed and have elected Dr. Bassam Jaara as a representative of the Faculty at the University Council.
