The Faculty of Arts and Sciences Welcomes New Students for the Academic Year 2025–2026
The Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University held a welcoming ceremony for its newly admitted students on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Mahmoud Darwish Auditorium. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Linda Al-Khawaja, Dean of the Faculty, together with the Vice Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and faculty members. Also present were Ms. Zeina Abu Al-Samn, representing the Deanship of Student Affairs and serving as Director of the Career Counseling and Alumni Office; Mr. Tareq Shhadeh, Coordinator representing the Language Center; and Dr. Marwan Salameh, Director of the AAU Psychological Care Center.
In her address, Prof. Dr. AlKhawaja warmly welcomed the new students, expressing her pride in receiving a new group of promising learners to the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She commended the university’s outstanding academic reputation and its recognition among the top 500 universities worldwide, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. She also shared the faculty’s vision, mission, goals, and core values, emphasizing that the students have joined a prestigious and pioneering institution known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous growth. Prof. AlKhawaja encouraged students to take pride in being part of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, describing them as fortunate to begin their academic journey at one of the leading universities in the region.
Prof. Dr. Fida Ghnaim, Deputy Dean for Quality Assurance, spoke about the university’s prominent standing among global higher education institutions, attributing this achievement to AAU’s firm commitment to academic quality and international accreditation standards. She also highlighted the university’s support for student creativity and entrepreneurship through its Business Incubator, which provides funding and mentorship for innovative student projects.
Ms. Zeina Abu Al-Samin presented an overview of the Career Counseling and Alumni Office, outlining the training programs, workshops, and employment opportunities it offers to enhance students’ career readiness. Mr. Tareq Shehadeh introduced the Language Center’s range of programs designed to develop students’ language proficiency in English and other languages, while Dr. Marwan Salameh discussed the services provided by the AAU Psychological Care Center to promote students’ mental health and well-being.
The ceremony concluded with a recognition of outstanding students, followed by the distribution of welcome cards and sweets decorated with the Times Higher Education ranking logo, reflecting the university’s global distinction and celebrating a shared spirit of pride and belonging within the AAU community.
