The Faculty of Agricultural Technology Welcomes its New Students and Honors Outstanding Achievers

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology at our AAU organized its annual orientation for new students for the academic year 2024-2025 on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Nizar Qabbani Auditorium. The event aimed to introduce students to the faculty’s vision and objectives, emphasizing the university’s commitment to providing a stimulating educational environment for a successful academic journey. The program began with the national anthem and a Quran recitation, followed by a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Sobhieh Saifan. She greeted the incoming students and highlighted the importance of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in enhancing food security and promoting sustainable development. Dr. Saifan emphasized how these specializations address global challenges by integrating theoretical knowledge with innovative practical applications. The event was attended by Vice Deans Dr. Rasha Al-Tarawneh and Dr. Murad Al-Maaytah, alongside faculty members, administrative staff, and approximately 100 students from various years, accompanied by some of their families. As a source of inspiration, the faculty hosted Dr. Ahmed Juwaihan, a successful professional in BASF Nunhems, specializing in seed production. Dr. Juwaihan shared his academic and professional journey, encouraging students to work hard, seize opportunities, and aim for excellence. Ms. Zaina Abu Al-Samin addressed the role of the Career Guidance Office in enhancing the quality of university graduates through various developmental opportunities. The event concluded with the recognition of top-performing students from previous years, honoring their achievements and motivating them to continue excelling. Additionally, new students participated in a tour of the faculty's laboratories and the smart agricultural house, gaining insight into the advanced facilities supporting scientific experiments and research. The day ended with an open Q&A session, during which faculty members answered students' inquiries and wished them a fruitful and successful academic experience.
