The Faculty of Agricultural Technology Participates in a Panel Discussion in Collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation
The Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University took part in a panel discussion addressing climate change and the green climate, held at the University of Jordan on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. The event was organized by Masarat Jordan Foundation, represented by Mr. Talal Ghunaimat, in collaboration with the Crown Prince Foundation, represented by Mr. Ahmad Abu Shaikha, and the Women's Studies Center, represented by Prof. Amal Al-Awawdeh.
Dr. Subhiyya Suaifan, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, delivered a keynote presentation titled:
“Climate Changes and Its Impact on Agriculture.”
The lecture explored critical themes such as the impact of climate change on crop and livestock sectors, the concept of climate-smart agriculture, and innovative solutions to adapt to climate challenges. These solutions included the application of artificial intelligence in water resource management, cultivating heat- and drought-resistant crop varieties, genetic engineering advancements, and employing controlled agricultural systems to promote sustainable and eco-friendly production.
This event also marked the faculty’s efforts to strengthen partnerships, with a memorandum of understanding being prepared with the Crown Prince Foundation in Al-Balqa Governorate. This collaboration supports the university’s mission to equip students with leadership capabilities, entrepreneurial skills, and the knowledge required to excel in modern job markets.
