The Department of Multimedia and Graphic Design Organizes a Scientific Visit to the Faculty of Islamic Arts and Architecture at the International Islamic Sciences University

The Department of Multimedia and Graphic Design at AAU organized a scientific visit for students of the History of Islamic Art course to the Faculty of Islamic Arts and Architecture at the International Islamic Sciences University on Monday, May 13, 2024. The visit was supervised by Dr. Imran Hassan, the course instructor, Dr. Faten Al-Gazzar, head of the academic department, and laboratory supervisor Rawand Hazin, a member of the department’s administrative staff. Dr. Hanaa Hegazy, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Arts and Architecture, presented an introduction to the philosophy of Islamic art and the origins of Islamic arts. The scientific visit included introductory tours of Arabic calligraphy, geometric and floral decoration, manuscript gilding, and Islamic ceramics. This visit aimed to introduce the technical and aesthetic skills of Islamic arts, achieve the faculty’s goals of interaction and integration with scientific institutions, and provide expertise. Additionally, it sought to foster joint cooperation between academic institutions to create an open and sustainable knowledge environment that supports creativity and innovation.
