The Department of Basic Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University holds a workshop on how to organize scientific activities

A training workshop for science teachers was organized in cooperation between The Jordanian Chemical Society, Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the Directorate of Education of Amman / Kasbah Brigade. The lecturer Aya Khalaf from the Department of Basic Sciences / College of Arts and Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University gives the training workshop at Asmaa Bint Abi Bakr Secondary School for Girls, where forty-seven male and female teachers attended the workshop from Ashrafieh Schools Networks Association, Jabal Al-Joufah Schools Networks Association, Al-Zuhur District Schools Networks Association, Jabal Al-Taj Schools Networks Association, and Nazzal District Schools Association and Al-Dhra’a. The workshop included a training about how to organize a scientific activities (festival) at school level, and how to adopt the scientific experiments in the classrooms. The safety consideration was highlighted to be taken into consideration during the organized activities, all levels, instructors, participant with different ages and experties, infrastructure, classrooms and laboratories. At the end of the training, the lecturer, Aya Khalaf, carried out some safe and friendly scientific experiments. The experiments were applied practically with the participated teachers who expressed their enthusiasm and admiration for this experience. All the presented materials and experiment leaflet were distributed as a gift from Al-Ahliyya Amman University to the participated teachers as a whole package encloding envelopes and brochures about Al-Ahliyya Amman University. At the end of the workshop, the Directorate of Education of Amman / Kasbah Brigade he was honored Al-Ahliyya Amman University as an appreciation for the support and the effort they made to deliver such a valuable workshop, that aimed for the enhancing of communication and collaboration between the university and the local schools and community.
