The Dean of the AAU Faculty of Arts & Sciences Prof. Nael Al-Sharaa, Meets the New Students in the Faculty

Under the auspicious of the Dean of the AAU Faculty of Arts & Sciences Prof. Nael Al-Sharaa, the Faculty organized a meeting for the new students in the faculty on Monday, 28/10/2019. This meeting was attended by Dr. Mustafa Al – Atiyat, the Dean of Student Affairs, the Vice – Dean, the heads of departments and faculty members. This meeting began with the National Anthem. After that, the Dean of the faculty delivered a speech where he welcomed the new students and expressed his delight with this meeting which introduced them to the faculty and its departments, programs and services. He confirmed the necessity of registering the courses according to the preparatory year plan and attending lectures regularly. Then he explained to them the instructions regarding attendance, absence, the incomplete exam and the proficiency exam. He also referred to the student club which will be held in the faculty in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs.Then, the Dean of Student Affairs delivered his speech where he pointed out the importance of the Deanship of Student Affairs and the various services and student clubs such as cultural- artistic- sport, and career guidance. He also noted that the Deanship is their second home after their faculty. In her speech, Dr. Fida Ghonaim, the Vice Dean for Accreditation & Quality Management, talked about the faculty vision and mission, which emerged from the vision and mission of the University. She also pointed out that the University received international and local accreditations and pointed to the importance of quality and its impact on students and the educational process.And then, the Heads of Departments including Dr. Hanan Ibrahim, Dr. Fidaa Abu Al-Khair, Dr. Anan Abu Mariam, Dr. Sawsan Badrakhan and Dr. Mohammad Mubaideen familiarized the new students with their departments and academic programs. At the end of the meeting which was managed by Dr. Hafiza Mahmud, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, who said that the Dean's offices, his deputies and the heads of the departments open their doors to the students and their inquiries, wishing them a successful academic year.
