The Administrative Board of the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation Holds Its Seventh Meeting Online and Approves the Launch of TEQBALL Sport
The Administrative Board of the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation held its seventh meeting via the Microsoft Teams platform on Sunday, 10/01/2021. Prof. Sari Hamdan who is the Federation President and the AAU President represented the AAU in this meeting which was attended by the Deans of Student Affairs at the member universities. At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the Federation welcomed the members of the administrative body and thanked them for their active role in developing and promoting university sports in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Prof. Hamdan stressed the need to start preparing for the Union’s celebration of the Jordanian centennial establishment of the State. He also urged the members of the administrative body to start developing ideas for a celebration worthy of this great occasion.During the meeting, the agenda of the Arab Union for University Sports was reviewed, whereby the Kingdom will host the Arab universities championships in the Taekwondo and Basketball 3×3 early next year 2022. The Federation’s achievements were also highlighted during the first semester of the academic year 2020-2021. Among the most important of these achievements are the following: • Holding training and arbitration courses to develop administrative cadres working in sports activity in the member universities.• Completing the work on developing and amending the Federation’s instructions and internal regulations. • Organizing a remote chess championship for university students in preparation for participating in the Arab Championship in early February 2021.The Sports Federation for Universities, in coordination with the Olympic Committee, adopted the mission of spreading the TEQBALL game, in an effort to expand the base of the game practitioners and in preparation for forming teams to represent Jordan in international championships. Dr. Anas Ratib Al-Saud, the Deputy Chairman of the Interim Committee of the National TEQBALL Federation, reviewed the most prominent developments in the game. He also confirmed the arrival of a number of the TEQBALL game tables provided by the International TEQBALL Federation with the contribution of the Jordanian Olympic Committee. These tables will be distributed to the member universities of the Federation, so that universities will be a launching pad for spreading this game in our beloved country.
