The Accreditation Authority Holds its 3rd Workshop on Accreditation Standards for Academic Programs at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

To complete the workshops initiated by the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation Authority and ensure their quality in introducing Jordanian accreditation for academic programs, the Authority held its third workshop at Al-Ahliyya Amman University to introduce these standards.Dr. Zeid Al Anbar, Vice President of the Authority, spoke about Jordan’s national framework for qualifications and the accommodation of various programs in Jordanian universities within the Jordanian National Framework for Qualifications so that they can apply for Jordanian accreditation for academic programs, and stressed the importance of this workshop, which seeks to improve learning outcomes by introducing Jordanian accreditation standards for academic programs, and praised the hospitality of Al-Ahliyya Amman University.For his part, Vice President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Nael Al Sharaa, welcomed the esteemed delegation and praised the authority's efforts in keeping up with scientific development in all its forms towards active contribution and distinguished presence of our Jordanian universities in the global scene, through the application of standards of accreditation and international quality standards, which contributes to the development of our educational outcomes.The workshop included several topics that were discussed by the committee members for the preparation of Jordanian accreditation standards for academic programs, where the committee of experts presented the criteria for Jordanian accreditation for academic programs, the guide to measuring accreditation standards, and the guide of accreditation standards procedures. Furthermore, the workshop was concluded with an extensive discussion with the audience on the new mechanism for the adoption of academic programs, where the authority represented by its Vice President and his assistants answered questions and inquiries of the attendees.The workshop was attended by The Assistant President for The Accreditation and Quality of Universities, Professor Saad Bani Mohammed and Assistant President for The Accreditation and Quality of Colleges Professor Dr. Zeid Al-Bashayreh, and a number of staff members of the Authority, as well as deans of the Faculties of Information Technology and Engineering and quality assurance managers at Jordanian universities.
