The AAU Women's Center Organizes A Symposium on Violence against Women

The AAU Women’s Center organized a Symposium on violence against women on Sunday, 29/12/2019 in the Mahmud Darwish Theater. It is worth mentioning that this symposium was held in line with the AAU vision to serve different segments of the local community, and was also based on the Center mission which is compatible with the mission of the Faculty of Nursing. During his speech, Prof. Amer Al-Hafi addressed the issue of violence against women from a religious point of view. This remark which focused on the religious aspect of life shed the light on the women’s status in religions and women’s equality with men in various sides of life as well. He also emphasized the role of religion in renouncing violence in all its forms.Furthermore, the Center hosted Prof. Inaam Al-Asha, who addressed the issue of violence against women and its social impact from a legal point of view. Prof. Inaam highlighted the most important legal provisions concerned with women and their impact on the family and community. The symposium was concluded with Prof. Ayman Mansour from the AAU Faculty of Nursing, who shed the light on the psychological side of the violence against women issue and its negative impact on her psychologically. He also presented some international statistics indicating the importance of the problem.
