The AAU Teaching & Learning Center Celebrates the Graduation of the Students Enrolled in the Rehabilitative Program (HOPES)

Under the Patronage of the AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, the AAU Teaching & Learning Center celebrated the graduation of students enrolled in the (HOPES) Program. This event which took place in the Mahmud Darwish Theater on Sunday, 16/9/2019, is part of the HOPES’ scholarship and is funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund Resilience for the Syrian Crisis “MADAD”. It is worth mentioning that the German Academic Exchange Service implements the scholarship in partnership with the British Council, the Campus France and the Dutch Commission for International Cooperation in Higher Education. The ceremony was attended by the Vice President, Prof. Michel Sweidan, the deans of faculties along with Mrs. Nadia Akel, the representative of Hopes- Jordan and a crowd of parents and graduates. The students of the rehabilitative program commenced the ceremony with the National Anthem followed by reciting verses from the Holy Quran by the student Basil Karim. In his speech, Prof. Sari Hamdan congratulated Jordanian and Syrian students on their graduation and thanked the European Union for its response to the Syrian crisis and support. He also commended the students’ efforts and their great role in holding this celebration and thanked the Project Manager Dr. Fayrouz Abu Swailem for her exerted efforts. This was followed by the graduates’ speech delivered by Basil Karim and Shirin Salah who thanked the University Presidency, the faculty members and those in charge of the rehabilitative program (HOPES). The ceremony also featured several sections; most notably the poetry recitation presented by the students Muhammad Hasan Al-Gharbawi and Sulaf Al-Nashi, in addition to singing a rap song by Ammar Yaser.At the end of this event, the patronage of this ceremony Prof. Sari Hamdan, the AAU President, handed certifications to graduates and to those who are in charge of the program. This was performed in a festive atmosphere that filled the Theater of Mahmud Darwish. Finally, memorial photos were taken on this occasion.
