The AAU’s Department of Medical Services Organizes A Workshop On “ The Danger of Influenza” for the Students, Staff and the Community Members

The Department of Medical Services and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences in the AAU in cooperation with the Pharmaceutical Company “SANOFI PASTEUR” held a lecture on the danger of Influenza on Tuesday, 31/10/2017 in the Nizar Qabani Theater. The Head of the Department in the AAU, Dr. Awni Al-Shanableh began the symposium by explaining the Influenza, its danger on the community and how to combat it since Influenza infects more than five hundred million persons in the world. This was followed by many lectures which were presented by Professors in the Faculty of Pharmacy. The first lecture was presented by Dr. Ali Al-Atoum titled “Emerging Infectious Diseases “Spot Light on Influenza”. The second lecture was delivered by Dr. Manal Al-Abbass titled “Immune Response to Influenza Virus Infection”. The third lecture was presented by Dr. Muhammad Majzoob titled “Influenza Disease: ‘Prevention is the Key’ ”. Finally, Mr. Ahmad Abu-Dayyeh, the representative of the SANOFI PASTEUR Company concluded the lecture series by delivering a lecture titled “Influenza Vaccination and How to Overcome the Challenges”. The Medical Services Department provided the Flu Vaccine at the discounted price. Many Staff, Students and Community Members participated in this event.
