The AAU President Inaugurates the Research Day of the AAU Faculty of Pharmacy & the Pharmaceutical Research Center

The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan, inaugurated the research day of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical & Diagnostic Research Center on Saturday 4/1/2020 at the Arena Space Hotel. This event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Mohamed Al-Tanani, the Dean of Scientific Research, Prof. Khaled Al-Kaabneh, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Prof. Ghalib Erekat, along with the faculty members from the aforementioned faculties.The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan welcomed the participants in this event and expressed his pleasure for launching this initiative which meets the need of organized teamwork. He also expressed his pride in the AAU Faculty of Pharmacy and its distinguished academic staff. Prof. Hamdan pointed out that the AAU harnesses all capabilities and supports scientific research and motivates all faculty members to carry out distinguished scientific research to be published in international journals. He also recommended focusing on important research that have significant effects on our societies and bring benefits to our homeland.Prof. Hamdan pointed out that there are important research preparations for inventing an important drug under the supervision of the Dean of the AAU Faculty of Pharmacy. In this context, he said: “We hope to obtain accreditation and carry out the necessary examinations. It is a source of pride and looms the start of a new path in our career.” I also hope that the Pharmaceutical & Diagnostic Research Center will achieve a prominent position in the empowered Jordanian society and to attain a global position.”The Dean of the AAU Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Mohamed Al-Tanani, said that during the next five years, we will strive to make the Pharmaceutical & Diagnostic Research Center at the forefront level of Jordan. This can be achieved through team work and via the efforts that will be exerted by everyone in the University.He also indicated that these accomplishments achieved by the AAU faculties will be the beginning of our path towards achieving distinguished achievements locally and globally.The Dean of the Scientific Research, Prof. Khaled Kaabneh, provided a briefing on the AAU Deanship of Scientific Research and highlighted its achievements, aspirations and goals within a clear and specific vision and mission. The Dean also highlighted the most prominent achievements of the Deanship, which will advance scientific research and support the faculty deans and faculty members, both quantitatively and qualitatively.On his part, Prof. Ghalib Erekat, the Dean of the AAU Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, said that the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences are work together despite their separation, as they carry out joint research and working with one team spirit. Erekat indicated that this year, a Master's program in Medical Laboratory Sciences was newly introduced to achieve the vision and mission of AAU. This program is considered unique at the level of private universities as there is little such kind of specializations in public universities.The Dean of the AAU Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, highlighted the most important objectives that the Faculty of Engineering seeks, and pointed out the importance of cooperation and partnership with the Faculty of Pharmacy and other AAU faculties. The Dean also hoped that this scientific day will produce important results and goals that are in the interest of our homeland.The opening session of this day was concluded with displaying a video on the current status and future plan of the PDRC. It is worth mentioning that the discussions of themes of the research day continued throughout the day.
