The AAU Launches the Initiation of the “Day of Change”

Under the patronage of the Vice President Prof. Suliman Al-Lawzy and on behalf of the AAU President, the Faculty of Nursing launched the activities of the “Day of Change”. The initiation which took place on Wednesday, 18/11/2017 was organized in cooperation with Al-Khaldi Center for Training and with the Department of Awareness and Health Education in the Administration of Drugs Prevention. This activity was organized in response to the initiation of the Accreditation Council of Health Institutions regarding the Day of Change which takes place on the eighth of November every year. The celebration included the following three activities: First, a qualitative lecture about “the Dangers of Drugs” was delivered by Major Anas Al-Tantawy, the Head of Awareness and Health Education Department in the Drug Prevention Administration. In his lecture, he aimed to raise the students’ awareness about the dangers of drugs and to educate them about types and forms of drugs through the drugs exhibit. Second, students of the Faculty of Nursing in cooperation with Al-Khaldi Center measured weight and height and calculated the body mass index (BMI) for many students in the University. Third, the students were trained on performing cardiac and pulmonary resuscitation as well as suffocation, measuring sugar blood level and blood pressure. The trainers also provided the University students with health education. At the end of the activity, the Vice President handed the AAU Shield to the representatives of the participating institutions as a token for their valued efforts.
