The AAU Hosts a Lecture on “the Decentralization Law”

The AAU Deanship of Student Affairs hosted on Wednesday July 17, 2017 a lecture on “the Decentralization Law” in cooperation with the Ministry of Parliamentary and Political Affairs and the Danish Organization (Action Aid). Dr. Ahmad Al-Ajarmeh from the Ministry of Parliamentary and Political Affairs and Mr. Murad Al-Kadi, the Director of the Project of Integrating the Youth in Society elaborated on the Decentralization Law and its relevant regulations. They also talked about the structure of the Decentralization in Jordan, details of the voting process, the mechanism of the governorate councils, its tasks represented in deciding developmental and strategic plans for the projects, the approval of the governorate’s budget project, the guide needs of the developmental projects in the governorate and finally the approval of projects in accordance with the Ministry of Finance guidelines. In this session which was managed by Dr. Sawsan BaderKhan, the instructor of the National Education Course, talked about the manner of integrating the youth, enhancing their political participation and representing their voices in the decision making areas and acquainting them with the laws and regulations in all areas. At the end, Dr. BaderKhan answered all the quarries raised by the students. It is worth mentioning that hosting this type of lectures aims to raise level of awareness among students regarding elections, to boost their participation and to support the democratic method which his Majesty King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein laid its foundation.
