The AAU Faculty of Pharmacy Holds A Meeting with New Students
Under the patronage of the Dean of the AAU Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Muhammad El-Tanani, a welcoming meeting was held for the new students for the academic year 2020-2021. The meeting which was held on Saturday, 20/3/2021 via the Microsoft Teams platform was organized by the Academic Advising Committee headed by Dr. Fariza Muhanna and the following committee members: Dr. Adam Abu Al-Rub, Dr. Ali Al-Sumaidi and Dr. Areej Jaber. During the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Muhammad El-Tanani, delivered a welcoming speech where he emphasized the importance of scientific research in keeping pace with the current developments and providing an advanced research center. He also stressed that he is fully prepared to listen to and to solve any problems that the students may encounter. Then, the Deputy Dean of the Academic Affairs, Dr. Yaser Qandil, welcomed the new students and thanked the Academic Advising and equivalency committees for what they offered to the students at the beginning of the semester. He also referred to the tasks assigned to the committees, especially the Pharmafield Training Committee and praised the role of the Counseling & Special Education Center for caring about students during their university studies.Dr. Bilal Al-Najjar, the Deputy Dean for Quality & Accreditation Affairs, delivered a speech on quality, as the University occupies a prominent position at the scientific and research levels. He also displayed a video which aimed to introduce the faculty, its departments, vision and objectives, and photos of the latest devices available at the Pharmacological & Diagnostic Research Center in the Faculty. Dr. Al-Najjar concluded his speech by urging the students to be up to the responsibility and the challenge and wished them continued success. Then, Dr. Naeem Shaalan, the Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics & Pharmaceutical Technology reviewed the most important points related to academic advising and the duties of the academic advisor. He also indicated that anything which students need electronically in addition to the academic advising guide is available on the academic advising platform. The meeting included students’ participations such as (a poem, sections for students’ talents in addition to students’ competitions). A discussion also took place between the students, the dean, his deputies, and the head of the department. The ceremony was concluded by thanking all the participants and by playing the Royal Anthem.
