The AAU faculty of Law Holds A Meeting for the New Students

The AAU Faculty of Law organized a meeting for the new students registered in the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020 in the Musa Al-Saket Hall for Mock Trials. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Mohammed Al-Thunaibat and the faculty members. The meeting was based on briefing the students on the university code of ethics and introducing students to the established university way of life and its traditions. The Dean congratulated the students for choosing AAU to specialize in the oldest private law faculty in the Arab world from which graduates are equipped with knowledge of law and who nowadays hold high positions in their societies.During this meeting, the Dean, the Vice Dean and the Head of the Department reviewed the various academic issues and the curricular and co-curricular programs that the University and the Faculty are planning to achieve to serve students. The Vice Dean, Dr. Saleh Hijazi noted the importance of creating familiarity and respect among students and their instructors. He stressed the need to stay away from the phenomenon of violence and to seek assistance of the administrative staff members to solve any problem that may face them. And he also emphasized the need to cooperate with the Deanship of Student Affairs. In this meeting, students received introductory brochures about the University and the Faculty as well as their study plan. The Head of the Department, Dr. Shaima Abu Farha, explained the study plans for the students and introduced them to the electronic registration and how to seek the assistance from the academic advisory. She also stressed the importance of establishing a sound legal system and laying the ethics of the legal profession for law school students from the moment they enter its thresholds.At the end of the welcoming meeting, an open dialogue was held, whereby the faculty administration received the students’ inquiries and suggestions. Meanwhile, the Dean concluded the meeting and wished the students success.
