The AAU Faculty of Engineering Organizes An Enlightening Day for the New Students

To mark the beginning of the academic year 2019-2020, the AAU Faculty of Engineering organized an enlightening day which included a round for the new students in the University facilities. This activity aimed to bring together the new students of various specializations in the Faculty and to introduce them to the University services and activities.The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Attiyat started the meeting by talking about the sports, artistic and recreational activities offered by the Deanship and its three departments. He also talked about free training courses offered by the Office of Career Guidance & Graduates Follow-up which contribute to refining students’ personalities and qualifying them to enter the labor market. Dr. Attiyat concluded his speech by confirming the inforced general instructions at the University.At the end of the meeting, a short film about the University and its establishment and faculties was displayed. Meanwhile, students were distributed in groups according to their departments with the faculty supervisors and instructors to go in a round through all facilities in the University. This round started by introducing students firstly to the AAU portal and then to the facilities including the library, Medical Services Department, Al-Hourani E- Learning Center, University Presidency, Engineering workshops and labs, transportation division, restaurants & cafeterias and finally the Arena Complex. It is worth mentioning that students were received by a University representative who talked about each facility and the services it provides. At the end of the enlightening day, the Dean of the Engineering Faculty, Prof. Bassam Mahasneh, and the department heads met with the new students and talked about the study plans and the importance of reviewing the academic advisor. They also checked students' schedules with their instructors, guided and motivated students to participate in the curricular and co-curricular activities held at the University and to inquire and submit any observation to the Faculty Deanship without hesitation.
