The AAU Faculty of Arts & Sciences Takes Part in the International Day for Persons with Disabilities

At the invitation of the Nazik Al-Hariri Welfare Center for Special Education the AAU Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences participated in the celebration of the International Day for the Persons with Disabilities held on Tuesday, 3/12/2019. It is worth mentioning that this event was held under the patronage of the Charge d'Affairs of the Saudi Embassy and was attended by a number of academics and specialists in the Special Education field. Dr. Anan Abu Maryam, the Head of the AAU Department of Special Education, represented the AAU Faculty of Arts & Sciences in this celebration. During this event, various activities took place including the speech of the celebration patron and the speech of the representative of the owners of centers. Artistic sections also took place in this event such as singing and performing expressive & theatrical dance which were conducted by students with disabilities. The celebration also included presentations about the Center implemented training courses and the programs and services that are offered by the AAU Center. In conclusion, the patron of the ceremony inaugurated an exhibition for creative works of students from the Department of Training & Vocational Rehabilitation. The exhibition included handmade works and high-value artistic works in addition to carpentry, ceramics and straw works.
