The AAU Department of Film, Television & Theater Design Hosts the Distinguished Jordanian Artists, Amal Al-Dabbas & Zuhair Al-Nubani
As a continuation of the AAU endeavor to spread the culture of creativity and embrace innovators, the AAU Department of Film, Television & Theater Design at the Faculty of Architecture & Design hosted the two distinguished Jordanian artists, the wonderful actress Amal Al-Dabbas and the distinctive actor Zuhair Al Noubani. It is worth mentioning that the two Jordanian artists represented a milestone in the history of Jordanian and Arab drama. The AAU President, Prof. Sari Hamdan received the guests in his office on Monday, 18/11/2019. After welcoming the guests, Prof. Hamdan expressed his delight to meet them and referred to the AAU’s interest and commitment to art and artists through providing its continuous support to the artistic movement in the Jordanian society. This reception was attended by Mrs. Enas Al-Hourani, the Director of the AAU Public & International Relations Department, Dr. Rama Al-Rabadi, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture & Design, Dr. Omran Hasan, the Deputy Dean and Prof. Jamal Ajour, the Head of the Department along with Dr. Margo Haddad, a faculty member in the department.During this visit, the guests were briefed on the facilities of the Department of Film, Television & Theater Design and the creative productions of the students. The guests also toured the Arena Complex which is equipped with the most up-to-date technologies and equipment needed for Art Industry. Then, a discussion was held titled Challenges of the Jordanian Drama Industry in Light of Regional & Global Competition. The session was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, who expressed her joy at meeting the two guests. The Dean mentioned that the Faculty, with its various specializations, aims to open up to the local community in order to strengthen partnership with its institutions. The Dean also touched on the impact of art on advancing the social artistic taste. The session then turned into an open dialogue between the guests and the students of the department who raised many questions related to the labor market and the possibility of engaging them in artistic works. It is worth mentioning that this event comes in the framework of activating communication with institutions concerned with the artistic movement in Jordanian community.
