The AAU Dean of Scientific Research participates in the 4th International Conference of Arab Impact Factor

Prof. Ekhlas Al-Tarawneh, the AAU Dean of Scientific Research participated in the 4th International Conference of Arab Impact Factor held at the Nile University in Egypt between 21 & 24 June 2019. This conference was organized by the Association of Arab Universities, the Arab Impact Factor Project and the Nile University.During the conference which was attended by a large number of Arab universities, Prof. Al-Tarawneh presented a scientific research and a presentation on the AAU's experience in scientific publishing and efforts exerted in stimulating scientific publishing and serving the community through scientific research. In her presentation, Prof. Ekhlas talked about Al-Balqa Journal for Research & Studies; its objectives; conditions of publications and its high standards. Finally, she delivered a message that there must be an association or entity under the umbrella of the Association of Arab Universities that works to establish an Arab database that includes all Arab periodicals, classify and review them like the global databases. She also stressed the need to have an Arab citation rating for Arab researchers and writers and the importance of creating a strong Arab classification for Arab universities that are based on solid and strong performance indicators which in turn review the performance of universities and classify them. She also added that there should be branches for this association or entity that shows interest in scientific research in the Arab world. It is worth mentioning that the Dean's proposal was well received and praised by the attendees. In turn, the President of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Amr Ezzat Salama, commended Prof. Al-Tarawneh for her proposal and for introducing the AAU’s experience and its efforts. He also stressed that they intend to realize the proposal in their strategic plan. At the end of this conference, Al-Tarawneh’s message was considered as final recommendations of the conference.
