The AAU Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, Inaugurates A Bazaar for Arab Students at the University
The AAU Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Maher Al-Hourani, and the University President, Prof. Sari Hamdan inaugurated a bazaar for Arab students at the University. The bazaar which took place on Tuesday, 11/12/2018 in the Arena Complex was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The bazaar was attended by the Kuwaiti Cultural Attaché in Jordan, Bader Al-Mutairi, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché Dr. Haider Zaidan, the Yemeni Cultural Advisor, Dr. Qubla Muhammad Saeed, the Counselor of Cultural Affairs at the Syrian Embassy in Amman Dr. Yusuf Al-Shoum and the Qatari Cultural Attaché, Hamad Bin Abdullah Al-Mahmud Al-Sharif. The opening ceremony was attended by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mustafa Al-Attiyat, Mrs. Enas Al-Hourani, the Director of the Department of Public and International Relations and a number of deans, members of the academic & administrative staffs in addition to a host of guests. The bazaar witnessed a distinctive participation of Arab students who presented the most prominent characteristics of their countries, including handcrafts, popular foods, ornamentation and heritage items, perfumes, clothes, bags and many other products. The following countries took part in this event: Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. Note that the bazaar activities will continue for two days. It is worth mentioning that the Arab student bazaar witnessed a significant presence of Jordanian and Arab students. This bazaar is part of the work plan of the Supreme Committee for Activities and Community Service for the first semester of the academic year 2018-2019.
