The AAU Celebrates the Open Day

Dr. Maher Al-Horani, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, inaugurated the activities of the open day on Tuesday, 16/5/2017. This carnival ceremony was attended by Prof. Sadeq Hamed, the President of the AAU; the Vice President Prof. Suleiman Al-Louzy; the University deans; academic and administrative staffs and a huge number of the University students along with invitees from the community. This event was opened with the music of the Gendarmerie Forces. The celebration included diverse sections in addition to recreational and extracurricular activities along with Teli Match Games and the Gendarmerie martial arts show. It is worth mentioning that all University faculties have participated in the event. Each faculty introduced its students’ products in and displayed many exhibitions such as the photography exhibition; the exhibition of the Community Peace Center of the Directorate of the Public Security; the used books exhibition; the special section of handmade products; the special section of food and drinks and the electronic games sections. The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Majed Auseily affirmed in his speech that the revenues of this day will benefit the charities and the needy families in Al-Balqa Governate. He added that students are proud of the safe and secure Jordan and are thankful to the University Administration for creating such a distinguished educational environment. During the open day, the AAU honored a number of students who achieved distinguished performances at different levels, locally, nationally and internationally. The following University teams who were honored during this event are listed below each according to its achievements and the names of its participants:- The University team wich was placed second in the knowledge contest among Jordanian universities consists of the following students: Basem Ahmad, Ahmad Al-Kayyli, Muayyed Abu – Dabes and Reham Al-Qasem.- The University winners in the short film contest among university students represented by the following students: Ahmad Ramamneh, Asma Khreesat, Anas Shaheen, Talal Al-Kharabsheh and Sara Qteeshat.- The University team which was placed eight in the international universities contest which took place in Qatar included the following students: Marah Qteeshat, Yzan Sadaqa, Reham Al-Qasem and Gadeer Al-Deqes.- The University team of the mock trials which obtained the first place in the individual contest and the second among the teams. The team included the following students: Dania Qteeshat, Majed Sweis, Omar Shnaity, Raad Al-Zyoud, Muhammad Al-Buqoor, Mahmud Barakat, Zein Al-Udwan and Rashed Al-Hiasat. - The University team which achieved the second place in the tenth national technological festival of 2017. The team consisted of the following students: Majdi Shaheen, Anas Abu-Senan, Muhammad Al-Takrury, Zeinab Al-Jahrani, Yosef Al-Hindi and Abdullah Al-Barashe. - The Arena Employer, Salam Yagmour, rescued the assistant to the Capital’s Governor who was involved in an unfortunate accident. She was honored for her bravery.- The winners in the first three ranks in the photography contest whose awards were presented by Al-Jubaha Studio. - Finally, Dr. Al-Horani handed the groups who supported the open day event shields of the University.
