Tarbiya News Meets President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University

During a meeting with Mr. Mohammed Shatnawi of Tarbiya News, Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, talked about the emergence of the University, the stages of its development, its faculties, the programs offered at the University, and the centers that have been created, namely Hourani e-Learning Centre which is equipped with the latest educational tools that help students in the educational process. Dr. Sadeq demonstrated the University policy aimed at upgrading education by attracting faculty members from other countries, who have high qualifications and distinctive experience to raise the level of higher education and provide state-of-the-art teaching methods that facilitate the educational process and deliver outstanding outputs. Al-Ahliyya Amman University is the first private university in the Kingdom as well as in the region. Al-Ahliyya Amman University has been always the leading university in establishing communication and continuous cooperation with the local community, he noted. The University includes a division for hearing and speech that provides free detection and treatment services for members of the community, he added. Dr. Sadeq noted that AAU is keen to participate with the national institutions in national and local events and provide all forms of service. The University also conducts charity campaigns, during which charity parcels are delivered in Ramadan to the needy. As regards supporting scientific research, Dr. Sadeq noted that the University has allocated a percentage of the budget to support and encourage scientific research. Dr. Sadeq also underlined the role of the Chairman of Board of Directors who provides limitless support to the requirements of the University, which would ultimately raise the level of higher education, not to mention the support he provides to the faculty members and administrators by raising their salaries to ensure their satisfaction and convenience. At the end of the meeting, Mr. Mohammed Shatnawi expressed his sincere thanks to the President of the University for the briefing he provided on the University and its future plans
