Symposium at AAU: "Our Compass is Palestine, and its Crown is Jerusalem"

In a symposium titled "Our Compass is Palestine, and its Crown is Jerusalem," organized by the Knights of Change Association for Political Development and Civil Society in collaboration with our AAU, Professor Sari Hamdan, university president, emphasized the enduring support of the Hashemite leadership for the Palestinian cause. The symposium, held under the patronage of Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez, featured former Minister of Information, Engineer Sakher Dudin, former Minister Dr. Jamal Al-Shmaileh, economic expert Mr. Mousa Al-Sakit, and Ms. Niveen Ayasrah, a member of the Knights of Change Association. The event was attended by vice presidents, deans, faculty members, and students of the university. Professor Hamdan highlighted the historical support of the Hashemite leadership for the Palestinian cause and expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people. He commended the humanitarian and political efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in the region, reflecting the unwavering commitment of the Hashemite leadership to the Palestinian cause and its legitimate rights. Moreover, President Hamdan mentioned that AAU provided support to Gaza through the Hashemite Charitable Organization. Additionally, the university offered assistance and waived tuition fees for Gazan students until graduation. Dr. Jamal Al-Shmaileh discussed Jordan's diplomatic efforts led by His Majesty the King, which played a crucial role in rectifying the global discourse on the Palestinian issue. He emphasized the urgency of addressing the unjust aggression on Gaza and the importance of being clear about the principles, starting with the fundamental principle of respecting and protecting civilians. Engineer Sakher Dudin stressed the necessity for universities to confront such aggression by equipping students with knowledge, innovation, leadership skills, and the required abilities to defend their homelands with knowledge and sophistication. Economic expert Mr. Mousa Al-Sakit called for unified action to immediately stop the gunfire in Gaza, protect civilians, alleviate the humanitarian disaster, and ensure uninterrupted aid delivery. Ms. Niveen Ayasrah, a member of the Knights of Change Association, facilitated the dialogue with the speakers and the audience.
