Strengthening Ties: Exploring Collaboration Opportunities between the Turkish Embassy and AAU

Professor Sari Hamdan, AAU’s President, welcomed the Turkish Ambassador to Jordan, Erdem Ozan, to discuss potential collaborations between our AAU and the Turkish Embassy, focusing on education and the Turkish language. This took place during a visit made by HE Ozan, accompanied by Mr. Ansar Furat, the Director of the Yunus Emre Institute in Amman. During the meeting, both parties explored opportunities for joint programs, encompassing research and development initiatives, workshops, and language courses aimed at elevating education standards and enhancing language skills for students. The significance of cultural exchange and knowledge-sharing among students and academics from both countries was emphasized. Attending the meeting from AAU were Professor Mosleh Al-Tarawneh, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty of Law; Professor Anas Al-Soud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality Affairs; Professor Hanan Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences; Eng. Ahmed Omar Al-Hourani, Director of the Marketing and Communication Unit; and Ms. Reem Al-Abid, Head of International Outreach and Reputation at the Global Engagement Center. President Hamdan expressed gratitude for the robust bilateral relations between Jordan and Turkey, underscoring the role of academic collaboration in fostering understanding and cultural exchange. Ambassador Erdem Ozan affirmed his country's readiness to provide necessary support for achieving mutual goals in Arabic and Turkish language education. This meeting aligns with the university's initiatives to bolster international cooperation and broaden academic and cultural exchange. It reflects the shared commitment to strengthening friendship and bilateral cooperation between Jordan and Turkey. Following the meeting, Professor Al-Soud accompanied the Ambassador and the delegation on a tour of key university facilities, including the Faculty of Dentistry, the Arena Complex, and the Faculty of Culinary Arts. The university concluded the visit by presenting a commemorative shield to the esteemed guest in appreciation of his visit.
