Starting the defense of master’s theses for students of medical laboratory sciences in Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The first master’s thesis was defended in the Department of Laboratory Medical Sciences “Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences” at Al-Ahliyya Amman University by student Taha Diaa Al-Ta’i on 9-6-2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hosni Shukri Farah in partnership with Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz. The defense session was attended by the dean of the faculty, Prof. Muhammad Al-Tanani. The session began with a welcoming speech from the Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, Dr. Khaled Abdel Aziz, followed by an opening speech by the Dean of the faculty, where he expressed his happiness to start defending the Master’s theses for the students of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences who completed their theses. Note that the defense of master's theses for a number of students will be completed during the current summer semester. The session was attended by the Vice Dean of the faculty of Graduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Dabbaghiyah, and a number of faculty members and graduate students in the faculty. It is worth noting that the master’s specialization in laboratory medical sciences was introduced in the academic year 2019-2020 with the thesis track, and the comprehensive examination track was introduced in the academic year 2020-2021. This program has been very popular since its establishment, because obtaining a master’s degree in medical laboratory sciences is one of the main requirements for obtaining a license to open a private medical laboratory.The faculty of Allied Medical Sciences at Al-Ahliyya Amman University has (in the academic year 2021-2022) obtained approval from the Higher Education Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission to open a master’s degree in “Communication Sciences and Disorders” in the Department of Hearing and Speech, which is the second graduate program in the College of Medical Sciences laboratory.
