Seminar entitled “Political Responsibility vs. Social Responsibility”
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, the Cultural and Social Committee at the University organized a seminar entitled “Political Responsibility vs. Social Responsibility”. In the seminar, Dr. Mamdouh Abbadi tackled the role of the House of Representatives in controlling government institutions and the social role that must be carried out by members of the Parliament towards their social responsibility to the country. He talked about the role of the House of Representatives in enactment of laws, regulations and legislation that serve the national interest. He also touched on the need for all segments of society to participate in the National Electoral to choose members of the XVI House of Representatives as envisaged by His Majesty King Abdullah. He added that this participation is a constitutional right for all citizens. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mamdouh Abbadi replied to all questions and inquiries that have been put forward by the audience. The meeting was attended by faculty and administrative staff, and a large number of students.
