Reception of first group of students of Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Al-Ahliyya Amman University organized a reception for new students at the college on Monday, 25 October 2021.The ceremony included a welcoming speech by Professor Dr. Reda Shibli, Dean of the College, during which he demonstrated the importance of the agricultural sector and its role in food security in Jordan and the world. He highlighted the role of the College in qualifying and graduating agricultural engineers with the competencies and skills that enable them to enter the labor market and contribute to food security.Dr. Shibley referred to the services provided by the University to facilitate the educational process for students and to enable them to use the university's facilities and laboratories easily and smoothly.Dr. Sabah Sea'afan, Head of Agricultural Technology and Genetic Engineering, stressed the department's role in providing students with basic skills in biotechnology and its applications, such as plant tissue transplantation, molecular biology, and genetic engineering. He reviewed the study plan, field training, and learning methods employed in the college, which are based on applied education, intelligent thinking, and exchange of expertise.The meeting included playing an introductory video on the Agriculture major and employment opportunities for graduates of the specialty, while the students participated in a public discussion about their scientific backgrounds and their future vision of the specialization and their needs.The meeting ended with an introductory tour of the university, during which students learned about the university's facilities from the college site, the green house, and the library.
