Professors from Nova University of America lecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

The President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, received in his office a delegation of professors and students from Nova Southwestern University, USA, where this visit included presentations and workshops in the faculties of Arts, Sciences, Nursing and Supportive Medical Sciences, attended by a number of faculty members and university students. Furthermore, the visit included three lectures presented by the members of the delegation, Professor Ralph Cash discussed a set of projective tests in clinical psychology during the first lecture, and Professor Stephen Campbell focused on an interactive dialogue with the audience in which he discussed some of the motivations and psychological characteristics of people with risky behaviors in the second lecture, in addition to many participations and positive interaction from the audience. In the third lecture, which targeted the hearing and speech major in particular, Dr. Yasmine Al-Hassawi gave a lecture on assistive technologies for people with hearing disabilities. A group of psychology students from Al-Ahliyya Amman University met with the students of the delegation and exchanged discussions and experiences among themselves. Our students praised this meeting and reflected a positive image of the Department of Psychology and Al-Ahliyya Amman University, calling for more of these valuable visits, and the delegation praised the advanced level achieved by the university with regard to faculty members, students and university facilities and equipment. Furthermore, it was agreed to expand the frameworks of cooperation between the two universities with regard to the exchange of faculty members and students and to establish joint programs in clinical psychology and other programs offered by the university. Prof. Anas Al-Saud, Vice President for International Relations and Quality, met with the members of the delegation to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two universities with regard to academic exchange and joint scientific research.
