Professor Sari Hamdan Honors Winners of Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design: "Right to Life - Messages to Gaza"

Professor Sari Hamdan, our University President, honored the winners and judging committee of the fourth cycle of Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design (2024), themed “Right to Life: Messages to Gaza.” The ceremony took place during the welcoming event for new students in Mahmoud Darwish Auditorium. The external judging committee included Dr. Ahmad Al-Faleh, designer Rula Abu Qaaoud, and visual artist Omar Al-Bdoor, alongside Dr. Saba Nusirat, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design, and internal judges from the faculty: Dr. Hanan Al-Sheikh and Dr. Faten Al-Jazzar, both faculty members from the Multimedia and Graphic Design Department. The winners of the award categories were celebrated during the event: • Abdulrahman Mehyar, Faculty of Architecture and Design, for the Animated Graphic Design/Short Video category. • Ruaa Shambour, Faculty of Architecture and Design, for the Photography category. • Manar Al-Akoor, Faculty of Architecture and Design, for the Painting category. • Shomoos Al-Yawar, Faculty of Architecture and Design, for the Poster Design category. The event concluded with a video presentation showcasing the works of all participants and the winning projects. Al-Hourani Award for Arts and Design aims to engage youth by addressing important cultural, environmental, health, educational, and societal issues. It encourages innovative artistic and design solutions that contribute meaningfully and effectively to addressing these challenges.
