Professor Bader Dweik from Al-Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the Sixth International APETAU Conference on English Language,Literature and Translation
Professor Bader Dweik, who is a faculty member in the Department of English at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, participated in the 6th international conference of the Association of Professors of English and Translation at Arab Universities (APETAU). The conference took place in Amman in the period between 5 and 6 April 2017. Three joint research papers were presented addressing three applied and sociolinguistic topics. The first paper focused on the impact of societal changes on language with reference to the Jordanian Bedouin society. While the second one analyzed the cultural content of an English language textbook taught in some private Jordanian schools, the third focused on teaching Arabic to non-native speakers and the difficulties they encountered. It is worth mentioning that Professor Dweik chaired a linguistics and Translation session where four Arab researchers from Jordan, Morocco, Algeria and the Emirates presented their works.
