Prof. Musleh Abu Al-Haj from AAU Wins Best Research Award at International Conference

Prof. Musleh Abu Al-Haj, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Information Technology - Department of Networks and Cybersecurity at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, received the Best Research Award at the Fourth International Conference on Emerging Smart Technologies and Their Applications (eSmarTA) 2024, held in Yemen. The winning research is titled: Towards a Lightweight Detection System Leveraging Ranking Techniques with Wrapper Feature Selection Algorithm for Selective Forwarding Attacks in Low Power and Lossy Networks of IoTs. The research focuses on developing a lightweight detection system based on artificial intelligence techniques to combat cyberattacks in Internet of Things (IoT) networks. The results demonstrated the system's effectiveness in significantly countering these attacks. It is worth mentioning that the conference is indexed in the Scopus database and is one of the leading conferences in the field of smart technologies and their applications. This award represents an important achievement for Dr. Musleh Abu Al-Haj and Al-Ahliyya Amman University, reflecting the university's commitment to scientific research and innovation in modern technology fields.
