Princess Wijdan Al-Hashimi Inaugurates Academic Day at AAU
Princess Wijdan Al-Hashimi inaugurated Amman Al-Ahliyya (AAU) annual academic day at the Nizar Qabbani auditorium. This event was made possible through the AAU faculties joint efforts to implement the University vision, mission and objectives, all geared towards supporting research, upgrading academic work and building good ties with the community.AAU President Professor Sadiq Hamed explained in his speech on this day that the University is working on opening new majors needed by the local and Arab labor market and that they are going to accept students in these majors at the beginning of the next academic year. These majors include: television, film and theatrical design, network engineering, information security, e- commerce and electrical engineering. There will also be a master’s degree in graphic design. The president also confirmed that the University is working on further development of the performance of the Hourani Excellence Center for e-learning, now considered the only center of its kind in the kingdom.Dr. Fawzi To eima, head of the Higher Committee for Community Service and Extra-curricular Activities, also called for stimulating the development of government and private academic institutions to enable them to continue their in-depth treatment of national issues by focused research, study and objective analysis of such issues.The scientific day included many significant activities. At the end the president of the University presented a shield to Princess Wijdan in appreciation of her sponsoring this event.
