President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University Sponsors Palestinian Community Celebration of Intifada Anniversary
The Palestinian community students organized a cerebration to commemorate the anniversary of Intifada. The ceremony was held in the presence of the President of the University, HE Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamed, and Mr. Najib Qaddoumi, member of the Palestinian National Council. The ceremony was commenced with the Jordanian and the Palestinian National Anthems. Dr. Sadeq Hamed welcomed the audience to their country Jordan, the Arab homeland, and the native land of King Abdullah II, who spares no effort in supporting the Palestinian cause in particular, and the issues of concern to the nation in general. Dr. Hamed noted that Al-Ahliyya Amman University seeks to provide appropriate environment for students from all countries and assist them by all means possible to dedicate their time to study and overcome any difficulties they face. Finally, Dr. Hamed prayed to God to unite the Arab and Islamic nations. Mr. Najib Qadoumi gave a speech in which he expressed his pride in being present at Al-Ahliyya Amman University, the first private university in the region, which embraces a group of Palestinian students. Mr. Qadoumi highlighted the care and attention provided to students by the University and the opportunity they are allowed to express their views and aspirations by hosting national events and celebrations that concern the State of Palestine, Jordan twin. He stressed that the security and stability of Jordan embodies the security and stability of Palestine. He lauded the efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and his unwavering positions concerning the issues of the nation, which have been deeply rooted by the Hashemites since the dawn of Jordan establishment. A student delivered a speech on behalf of the Palestinian students in which he thanked Al-Ahliyya Amman University and the King, government and people of Jordan for their support for the Palestinian students and the Palestinian cause. The ceremony included extracurricular activities and events, including poetry, patriotic songs and showcasing photographs reflecting Intifida events.
