President of Al Ahliyya Amman University Participates in the Fifth Forum of Arab and Russian University Presidents

The President of Al Ahliyya Amman University, Professor Sari Hamdan, participated in the Fifth Forum of Arab and Russian University Presidents, which commenced last Monday at Capital University (formerly Helwan University) in Egypt. The forum was held under the patronage of the Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, and witnessed a wide participation from Arab and Russian academic leaders. During the forum, the university signed several international cooperation agreements with Arab and Russian institutions, including Capital University (formerly Helwan University), Mari State University in Russia, and Chechen State University. These agreements encompass student and faculty exchanges, joint research programs, and the development of academic curricula. Professor Sari Hamdan emphasized that these partnerships align with the university’s strategy to strengthen its global presence and build sustainable academic collaboration. He noted that the signed agreements would support research development and the launch of joint initiatives in fields such as technology, medical sciences, and artificial intelligence, enhancing opportunities for both students and researchers. The forum, organized by the Association of Arab Universities, also featured the introduction of two new initiatives proposed by Secretary General Dr. Amr Salama to deepen Arab Russian cooperation. The first focuses on launching joint research themes in artificial intelligence, space, sustainable energy, medical sciences, food security, cultural heritage, and innovation. The second centers on establishing the Arab Russian Center of Excellence for Education and Research as a shared platform for research programs, doctoral studies, and innovation incubators. This year’s forum is held under the theme Bridges of Knowledge Civilizations: Education, Innovation, and a Sustainable Future, with participation from more than fifty Arab and Russian universities.
