President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University meets ISA program students

Prof. Dr. Sadeq Hamid, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University, met students of the International Studies Abroad “ISA” Program. At the beginning of the meeting, the President of the University welcomed the students and briefed them about the inception of the University, which is the first of its kind in Jordan and the Arab world at large, and the programs offered at the University. He addressed the University strategy for upgrading and developing the educational process. He stated that the University has introduced outstanding programs, such as networks and information security, e-commerce and business, electrical engineering in its new form, and film, TV, and theater design. The University is seeking to develop a new program in optics, he added.Prof. Hamid then turned to graduate programs, especially the joint MBA program with Heriot Watt University, UK. He stated that the University embraces nearly 240 different nationalities and dedicates special attention to foreign students. An office was set up to take care of their affairs and overcome any difficulty they might face in order to make them feel the safe and warm Jordanian hospitality. The President of the University further urged the students to interact, communicate, and engage in dialogue with the various Jordanian society groups in order to exchange cultures, traditions and human knowledge and transfer it to their home countries as ambassadors for their respective countries. The students expressed their pleasure at visiting Jordan and their satisfaction with their stay, given that Jordan is a secure and stable country. The students pointed out that Jordan is a civilized country with a good standing in their own countries because of its policies, especially its cooperation with the international community to promote world peace.The purpose of the visit of ISA program students is to learn Arabic language and learn about the cultures, customs and traditions in Arab societies. Their visit will last for one semester, during which tourist tours will be organized to cover the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan facilities. The meeting was attended by Regional Director of the program, Mr. Mohammad Nasser.
