President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University Holds Open Meeting with Students

HE President of the University held an open meeting with students. HE welcomed the students and urged them on freedom of expression and opinion and participation in the Student Council Union elections intended to be held on Wednesday, 31-3-2011. Dr. Saleem stressed that student representatives in the Student Council Union should be selected on sound grounds that reflect their demands freely, as highlighted by His Majesty the King. He confirmed freedom of expression underlined by democracy. The President of the University addressed the need and importance of acquiring academic qualification by the Jordanian youth, which leads the nation to better productivity in all sectors that achieve development in all its forms, which in turn benefits the country, its citizens and civil society institutions. Dr. Saleem stressed that students should acquire skills that complement scientific knowledge, and focus on applied education and vocational training. Dr. Saleem listened to student issues, problems and suggestions and answered their inquiries. He promised to resolve the issues and difficulties faced by the students after they are considered and presented to the Council of Deans, in furtherance of the principle of interaction between the University and the students and direct communication with them.
