Pilot Projects Lecture at Al-Ahliyya Amman University

Within the extracurricular activities organized by Al-Ahliyya Amman University, Prof. Dr. Maher Saleem, President of the University, delivered a lecture titled “Pilot Projects”, which aims to shed light on the role of universities in the preparation of qualified graduates who are able to start pilot projects that qualify them to enter the local labor market. Dr. Saleem also noted the role of the University in spreading entrepreneurial culture and providing various forms of support. Dr. Saleem addressed the future of educational institutions, which is closely related to the application of its role in real world, derived from the vision, mission and objectives of these institutions. The role of such institutions go beyond providing knowledge to creation and transfer of knowledge, research and innovation, transfer of expertise, culture, and science, and job creation in the market. This enables these institutions to become instruments of real change towards achieving economic growth and sustainable development. Therefore, the University is responsible for the transition from education to learning and preparing qualified graduates with multiple skills to cater to the global labor market needs and to start pilot projects, he noted. Dr. Saleem said that the basic pillars of the University are focused on education, research, community service. He explained that pilot projects consist of three parties: students, faculty members and the university. The University will provide all necessary support to the projects with a limited partnership percentage for the University, he noted. The meeting was attended by a large number of the University administrators and faculty members. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Saleem answered the questions raised by the audience.
